Greta Carroll MIAHIP is a fully qualified and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with two years clinical residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Fairview. She abides by a strict code of ethics as outlined by the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy   (IAHIP)
Greta’s studies have encompassed the contributions of Analytical Psychology, Humanistic and Existential Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programing, Gestalt, Psychoanalysis and Psychosynthesis. These various schools give very powerful accounts of what it means to be human, what factors shape us in our development, how psychological suffering or impairment arises and what can be done to alleviate it.
Greta is a trained teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Her own mindfulness/meditation practice is very supportive of her work.
As a client, if appropriate, you will be invited to explore a short mindfulness practice (3-minutes) to be practiced outside of sessions. This will facilitate the development of attention, awareness and containment, thus supporting the process of psychotherapy making it more efficient and economical.
